When Should You Arrive for Class?

A Real Beginner’s Pilates Experience at Rejenerate Pilates

When Should You Arrive for Class?

If you’ve never tried Pilates before, and you’re curious about what it’s really like to step into your first class, you’re in the right place! As a total beginner myself, I’m sharing my honest experience and answering those little questions you might be wondering about.

So, what should you arrive for class at Rejenerate Pilates?

My very first class was scheduled for 4:00 p.m. I ended up arriving at Rejenerate Pilates at 3:46—almost 15 minutes early. As a total beginner, I wandered around awkwardly at first, worrying that maybe I was in the way of people finishing up their sessions. Luckily, the front desk noticed me right away, greeted me warmly, and showed me where I could wait comfortably.

From my experience, the sweet spot is arriving about 5 to 10 minutes before your class. Arriving exactly on time can feel a bit rushed, since you’ll need a moment to settle in. If you’re already dressed for class, arriving 5 minutes early is perfect—it gives you a chance to breathe, relax, and get in the right mindset. But if you need to change clothes, giving yourself about 10 minutes works best.

When I mentioned that it was my very first class, the receptionist kindly explained everything I needed to know about the studio and what to expect during the session. That really helped ease my nerves and made me feel at home.

One more tip: Try to keep your belongings light. As I mentioned in my first experience, Rejenerate Pilates already has everything you need for class—water, towels, even grip socks and hair ties if you need them. Bringing the essentials only also saves you the hassle of carrying or storing extra items.

So, next time you come in, aim for 5–10 minutes before class, travel light, and enjoy the calm before your Pilates session begins.

“You don’t have to be perfect. Think of today as the first step to helping your body discover something new.”
